Answer: This is going to vary from player to player depending upon experience and if it’s limit or no-limit. My two candidates are KQ and AJ. The problem is, you can flop your kicker as top pair (example:4-5-J), and be in a world of hurt when your opponent has the real top pair (AA, KK,QQ, or even JJ). With KQ, of course you are worried about getting dominated with AK or AQ. So be very carefull about playing these in early position, and seriously consider folding to a raise. I will add however that when suited (and playing LIMIT poker) these hands go up in value, and also play better in muti-way action – when you can go for straights and flushes to win monster pots. Hands like these are much more dangerous in early position playing no-limit.

Don’t play hungry. Don’t play angry. Don’t play lonely. Don’t play tired (HALT). If you can’t focus on the game then wait until you can. When you sit down you should be focused like a laser beam, and if you’re not you might as well just pull out your stake and set it on fire. When you’re distracted by other things going on in your life than you’ll miss something at the table, and everything you miss will cost you money. Your brain is your biggest weapon at the table, don’t leave it at home (or at work, or at your girlfriend’s, or at school, etc.).

Well here’s a question I just had to answering straight away:

Question: I recently won an online tournament where the prize was a trip to barcelona and entry into a big tournament out there. I was delighted obviously but its suddenly dawned on me the size of task i’m gonna have when I get out there, playing against pros who have paid the €10,000 to enter the competition.

I’ve played online for about 4 years and regular live games with groups of friends but never in a live tournament like this. The most i’ve won previously is about $500 in any one tournament

I was wondering if there is anybody out there who has played in games like this who could give me any tips? I can just picture myself sitting there shaking while looking at all the money, is drinking to calm myself down a bit a bad idea?

Answer: I think drinking is a bad idea because it might negatively affect your thought process.

You might be nervous at first but I am sure after the first 15 minutes or so those feeling will subside.

I recommend you play like Hellmuth writes (please do not whine and cry). Play tight as first (only top 16 hands) and do not get involved in big early in the tournament.

Good Luck

Answer: Play your A game at all time! When you play online it’s easy to get distracting, you must keep your focus in the game.

Work an you bankroll management, it’s one of the key of a winning poker player. Play limits you can afford to play, and feel comfortable playing. If you have a bad period, don’t hesitate to go down in limits.

Be aware of the betting patterns of your opponents. Learn how to calculate outs and pot odds.

At first, only play one table at the time. Only a skill player should play several tables at the same time.

Open an account in 2 different poker site with 2 different user name, so you can switch from one to another from time to time.

When you’re comfortable playing one form of poker and show profit with it, start to learn a different one.

Take care and good luck with your game.

Answer: ok i give u a tip watch the blind clock and try to fold when it changes so it go s up on the shortest stack player . all so watch ya position if you 1 or 2 of the button no one has called or rasie then rasie the chance are 2 out 3 they will fold but make it a reasonable raise at least 3 times big blind . watch it on tele its on 3 times a week on c4 c5 and itv4 on sundays . also get pokershark running in back ground u get 5 free searchs aday so you can see how good some one is it will only give sit and go stats but is still worth looking . my last tip to you is try the steps on party poker but play to place and not to win then if you lose you get another chance or you may advance i won one last year $3 buy in won $2000 after only playing on line for 3 months . play when your feeling fresh and dont over play if you feel tierd leave it theres always tomorrow . look for tours that just brake the pay outs ie just over 50 players will pay top 10 but 97 will also pay top 10 . 101 will pay top 20. 146 will also play top 20 so look at the runners. half the starting field will be gone in the first hour so if u sit in a tour with 52 runners come the break youll be down to about 25 with top 10 getting paid you stand a good chance of cashing . play to cash first win secound andy black has won millions and never won a tournament thats it good luck GEEMAN449 ON PARTY POKER
